About Us:

National Cadet Corps is the largest students’ uniformed organisation in the India. 7 Andhra Naval Unit functioning at Sri Y N College is known to be one of the most dignified unit. This Unit functioning in Sri YN College, Nrsapur since 3 Aug.1965 with 4 Senior Divisions and 2 Junior Division Troops. It was upgraded to 6 Senior Divisions w.e.f 1 Oct. 1967. Four Senior Divisions are affiliated to Sri Y N College, Narsapur and two Senior Divisions affiliated to SVKP & Dr. KS Raju Arts and Science College, Penugonda. The unit is functioning as a full pledged unit with all the accessories/facilities provided within the college premises including firing range. Boat Pulling and Ship Modeling training are being imparted to the cadets in accordance with the syllabus laid down, and models are also being prepared by the cadets. Sri Y N College NCC Unit gets innumerable prizes every year in different events and camps. The cadets show their contribution in various social activities like awareness programmes, blood donation, Community Service, and many more.

Aims:

To develop character, comradeship, Discipline, leadership, secular outlook, Spirit of adventure and the ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country. To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and always available for the service of the nation

Social Service Activities:

All ANOs and cadets have been actively taking part in the following social service activities entrusted by the State Govt. from time to time in all these years;

  • Election duties
  • Blood Donation and Pulse polio programme.
  • Relief operations during natural calamities like cyclones, floods etc.
  • Physical training for Pre-army recruitment
