Grievance Redressal Cell

About Us:

The Grievance Redressal Cell of the College was formed in 2004, to look into the complaints lodged by any student, and judge its merit. The cell is also empowered to look into matters of harassment.


The objective of the Cell is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the college.

Scope :

The Cell deals with grievances received orally or written from the students about any of the following matters:

  • Academic matters: Related to timely issue of duplicate mark-sheets, transfer certificates, conduct certificates or other examination related matters.

  • Financial matters: Related to dues and payments for various items from library, hostels etc.

  • Other matters: Related to conditions of sanitation, preparation of food, availability of transport, victimization by teachers, eve-teasing issues etc.

  • Student can report their grievances even to the college e-mail:

Composition of the Grievance Redressal Cell:

The Grievance Redressal Cell is chaired by the Principal; A Senior Faculty Member is nominated as the Coordinator of the Cell. There are two Senior Faculty Members as the members, of which one will be a Female Member. Four Students from different groups are nominated as the student-members.

The Grievance Redressal Cell is constituted by the Principal for a period of two years. The Cell meets as and when any Complaint/Grievance is lodged by the students. A wooden Grievance Box is kept outside the Administrative Block. The students with grievances can put their written complaints in that box. The box is checked every day. Also the students can make an oral representation to the Principal or Cell Coordinator or any teacher or student member. In fact, every Teaching Faculty Member, every Head of the Department and every Non-teaching Staff Member can receive the student grievances and bring them to the notice of the Principal, who in turn initiates the necessary redressal steps.

The Grievance Redressal Cell takes maximum 2 days to redress the grievances. The Cell works in coordination with the Internal Complaints Committee (also called Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee), the Anti-Ragging Committee and the Women Empowerment Cell. The main purpose of all these Committees is to protect the well-being of the students.
